1.  Model Name
UP-5900 & UP-5350 running Venta Software.
2.  General
The following countermeasure is to allow the pound symbol (£) to
function within Venta Software on UP5900 & UP-5350 on screens
“Compulsory Cash Declaration” and “Cash Back”.
3.  Phenomenon
When the UP-5900 & UP-5350 with Venta Software the pound
symbol (£) is display as an “
œ
”
 
symbol within the screen such as
“Compulsory Cash Declaration”.
4.  Remedy
As well as amending the Autoexec.bat to include the following line.
keyb uk,,c:\windows\COMMAND\keyboard.sys
See a previous Technical Report.
Within each Point of Sale terminal the S2001.ini file in section
“Euro Settings” a line needs amended from the  following: -
# CURCHARD1=156,p
To read the following: -
# CURCHARD1=163,p
To activate the feature remove the space and the rem statement
from the start of the line so it reads as follows: -
CURCHARD1=163,p
NOTE: - THIS IS FOR NON EURO MACHINES
UP-5900 / UP-5350
