These Utilities have been designed to allow the easy Backup & Restore of a Venta POS system and also
the conversion of an existing DOS program to Venta for Windows.

To allow for ease of use follow the on-screen commands. The choices available on the Main Menu are

1. Backup & Restore – Backs Up Application Data from the POS and Restores it to the POS
2. Emergency Disk Create – Creates a boot floppy to save data from the POS if the OS becomes corrupt
3. DOS - Windows Upgrade – Reformats DOS data for use on Venta Windows Version

7. Display this help file – Displays a simple help file
8. Exit – Exits the Application

Detailed below is the information on the use of the options listed above.

To install this utility select Start – Run the “A:\install.bat”. The utility will install to the support PC. If using
Windows XP please use “a:\installx.bat”

After installation of the “Venta POS Utility” (Ver e & Above) Two Icons will appear on the Desktop of the PC
being used for support. They are :-

This ICON is used for Windows 98 Operation. If using Windows NT, 2000 or XP it
should be deleted. If used it may not be possible to enter File Maintenance under the
“Test Application” option

This ICON should be used for Windows NT, 2000 & XP. If using Windows 98 it should
be deleted.
