Licensing 
 
As this software contains a 3
rd
 party licensed component only unregistered 
versions of Venta+ can be downloaded from our web site. These versions 
contain a 30 day licence for both Venta+ and the 3
rd
 party Java component. If 
these versions are licensed for Venta+ via Sharp they will stop after 30 days 
because the Java license will expire.  
 
ONLY after one copy of the software has been purchased from Sharp can a  
FULL version of the application be sent on CD to the reseller with an End User 
License Agreement (EULA). Using this version means acceptance of the 
license terms.

1. Background 
 
The food sector of the hospitality business is more and more likely to embrace 
the Handheld ordering technologies now available. These devices (Handheld 
Terminals HHT) improve customer service and turnaround, and lead to 
improved revenues. 
 
As a result Sharp have developed on their Venta POS application software a 
generic link to allow the connection of a Handheld device. The interface has 
been designed around a secure TCPIP socket interface using standard 
Windows Wi-Fi systems. The level of security can be set at installation to 
provide secure connections between the HHT and the POS system. 
 
SHARP have also developed application software (Venta
+
) that can be loaded 
onto the Sharp UPX200 Handheld Terminal to provide a wireless waiter 
ordering system. 
 
As the interface on Venta PRO is generic other applications may also be 
available. 
 
This manual provides the necessary information to install and operate Venta
+ 
with the SHARP UPX200 and Venta PRO POS Software.

2. Introduction 
 
 The following diagrams show likely system configurations. The system is 
designed to allow a number of HHT devices to connect to a POS system for 
table ordering, bill production and payment. Multiple HHT systems can also be 
used in Multi-Master environments. 
 
However it is seen as the market advances, the application software will be 
enhanced to meet the needs of the market place.
