Installation Of the ARPE1 on a Windows NT4

Windows NT 4.0 Workstation or Server CD
The Sharp ARPE1 and User Software CD
An ARPE1 and ARC150 colour copier

Note:
It may be necessary to use the Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 CD and the Sharp
ARPE1 User CD during installation. Items in italics indicate icons, buttons, or
menu options during installation.

If the ARPE1 is going to join a Domain, ensure that a computer account is made
for the ARPE1 on a domain controller, prior to performing the procedures below.
Procedure: This installation consists of four separate tasks:
1. Setup of TCP/IP on the NT 4.0 Workstation or Server.
2. Setup of the ARPE1.
3. Installation of the Print Driver.
4. Configuration of the Print Driver.

Setup of TCP/IP on the NT 4.0 Workstation or Server
1. To begin installation, click on Start-Settings-Control Panel on the NT4
Workstation or Server. Double click the Network icon.

1.1 In the Network applet, click on the Protocols tab.
1.2 Confirm that the TCP/IP Protocol is installed, and configured with a valid IP address, subnet
mask, and default gateway by clicking on the TCP/IP Protocol and clicking on Properties.

1.3 If the TCP/IP Protocol is not already in the list of protocols, perform the following steps:

If Microsoft TCP/IP Printing is not already installed, perform the following steps:

1.5 Click OK to close the Network applet and reboot the PC to load the service.

Setting up the ARPE1
2. Restart the ARPE1. When the ARPE1 completes its power up sequence, the screen below will
be displayed on the LCD panel.
2.1 Press the Menu button (left middle button) once to enter the Functions screen.
2.2 Press the Scroll Down button (left lower button) once on the ARPE1 to view the remaining
selections for the Functions screen.
2.3 Select Run Setup by pressing the second button on the right-hand side. The screen prompts
you to Continue to Setup. Press the controller’s button next to OK and the ARPE1 enters the
setup mode.

2.4 The Setup screen appears on the controller’s display.
