File Maintenance Menu

Choose option 1 - Product File

A record for each item you  want to sell at the terminal must be set  up and maintained using
this function.  All items have a unique code which the system will use  to identify the product.
The other fields form the basic product details which are used by other functions in the terminal
system including the pricing levels and the dispense printer information.

Each product is assigned a type, for  example, the product may be a starter, main course,
qualifier, dummy.  The system uses the type field to establish the type of order print or define
the processing for  the item, for example, qualifier (cooking instructions), or dummy products
which form part of a condiment (set menu), or extra portions.  A list number may be specified
for the product if it is a condiment item, or a product which requires a qualifier, or selection of
extras such as jacket potato toppings.

You can add products to the file, or change or delete existing products.  When you  want to
change or delete a product, you must first locate and display the product details.

When the product has been added to the product file, you should allocate the item to a list (List
File), or a preset key (Preset PLUs).

The following options are available to maintain the product file:-

A

To add a new product to the product file.  See Adding a Product below.

C

To change the product details currently displayed on the screen.  See Changing a
Product below.

D

To delete the product details currently displayed on the screen.  See Deleting a Product
below.

S

To search for the details of a particular product.  The system will prompt you to enter the
product code of the item.  The product details are then displayed for you to continue.  

A

warning message will be displayed if you enter a product code which is not currently on
the file, press any key to continue.

N

To display the details of the next product held on the file.

P

To display the details of the previous product held on the file.

END To exit the function and return to the menu.
