OVERVIEW
Up to nine keyboards may be specified on the system to allow for different sale requirements
for different terminal locations on the site, for example, bar or restaurant.  Having specified the
keyboard number, the model of Sharp Terminal  (A850 or A880) is then selected.
Up to 156 keys may be allocated on each terminal keyboard.  You must allocate a key number
to each terminal function, preset PLU, product list, or special data key you want to use at the
terminal.  For example, you can choose the position on the keyboard where you want the
Server key, Cash key, or Clear key.  However, you need to reserve 19 key positions for  the
special data keys such as Clear, Enter, and the numeric keys required by the terminal.
The key numbers are displayed on the screen.  You can select the key number you require and
then specify the key type.  A maximum of 50 preset PLUs, 50 terminal functions, 8 payment
types, 99 list keys, 10 preset server keys, and 19 special data keys can be allocated to the
keyboard on the terminal.  It should be noted that if the maximum terminal functions, server
numbers and payment types are allocated, there will be less space for the preset PLUs and list
keys.
The way in which the keys are allocated to the keyboard is the same for both the A850 and the
A880 terminals.  There are three extra fields for the A880 terminal for you  to specify the text
you want to display on the touch screen key area.
Sharp A850 Terminal
For the A850 terminal, there may be two keyboard levels for each keyboard number; 0 is the
main keyboard and 1 is the overlay keyboard.  This allows you to set up two lists or two preset
PLU items on the same key position on the terminal keyboard.  The servers can access the
overlay keys by pressing the LEVEL SHIFT key and pressing the list or preset PLU key on the
terminal keyboard to select the item.
The keys are numbered on the terminal (as  described below), starting with key number 1
positioned at the top left-hand corner and key number 156 at the bottom right-hand corner.

Sharp A880 Terminal
The keys on the A880 terminal are not allocated to a specific number on the keyboard itself,
but each key position has a reserved amount of space on the touch screen.  The block of keys
reserved for items is displayed in the upper left area of the touch screen, and the block of keys
reserved for functions is displayed in the lower central area of the touch screen.  Please note
that both areas may  include left and  right arrows for  scrolling (in place of the keyboard level
shift key).  The key numbers are assigned to terminal functions as follows:-
