(iii) Data transfer to PC (IrDA)
The process of reading the image data of the DSC-F1 into PC by IrDA is described briefly below.
(a)
Confirmation of communication
If the following conditions are satisfied all, the DSC-F1 is able to perform IrDA reception anytime
• When the unit is started when the function dial is not OFF
• When the WIRELESS menu is ON
• When the exposed images are not being processed
When the Cyber Short Personal Computer Album (software provided) is started by the PC and “Open Camera Album”
is executed, the data reading start signal is output to the DSC-F1 from the PC.
(Important) Setting of transfer menu
When communication is performed with the PC by IrDA, the setting of the transfer menu in the playback mode is
ignored. Set and check only the WIRELESS menu.
(b) Transfer/reception of index image
Index image (small images) data stored in the DSC-F1 is transferred to PC, and the index image displayed on the PC.
(c)
Transfer/reception of full image data
When the index image to be read is selected at the PC, full image data is transferred from the DSC-F1.
(Reference) Transferred data
The date of exposure, rotation angle, and protect information is transferred together with the image data.
(iv) Data transfer to PC (Connection cable)
The data transfer process is the same as that by IrDA.
When using the connection cable, always set the WIRELESS menu to OFF.
If the communication rate setting of the PC and DSC-F1 is different, “Failed to communicate with camera. Retry ?” is
displayed on the PC screen.
