(2) Data Transmission Time...See Table. 5
• PRINT (IrDA)
When printing from DSC-F1 to DPP-M55, image data decoded with JPEG compression is transmitted.
Due to the slow transmission rate (IrDA:115 Kbps), data transmission takes about 85 seconds per image. After one data
transmission, the next is started after the DPP-M55 completes printing (takes about 70 seconds), it takes about 3 minutes to
print one image totally.
• TRANSFER (IrDA)
When transmitting data between two DSC-F1s, the data is transmitted in the JPEG compressed form.
As a result, the time for transmitting image data differs according to the image quality.
Using the infrared wire (IrDA:1.15 Mbps), one image can be dubbed in about 6 to 15 seconds.
• Data communication with PC (IrDA)
Data is transmitted in the JPEG compressed form between DSC-F1 and PC when using IrDA. The transmission rate is
normally 115 Kbps.
115 kbps is the transmission rate of the IrDA driver of general PCs. When using other types of IrDA drivers, their
transmission rates will be set (9.6 kbps to 1.152 Mbps).
• Data communication with PC (Connectin cable)
When the DIGITAL I/O terminal of DSC-F1 and PC is connected with a cable, the image data is transmitted in the JPEG
compressed form. Three types of transmission rates can be selected from the menu screen (9600/19200/38400 bps).
