(d) Reconfirmation of communication...
4
The DSC-F1 outputs the start signal periodically about one minute from the end of data transfer.
When the DPP-M55 ends printing normally, and receives the signal from the DSC-F1, the DPP-M55 outputs the
confirmation signal and sounds a short beep once.
If communication with the DPP-M55 cannot be started within about one minute after the reoutput of the start signal
because paper at the DPP-M55 has run out, the DSC-F1 displays a print error on the LCD and ends data communication
operations.
(e)
End of printing operations...
5
When the DSC-F1 completes all image data transfer, and the DPP-M55 inputs the confirmation signal, the DSC-F1
displays PRINT COMPLETE on the LCD and ends its operations.
(iii) Transfer
The following briefly describes the data transfer process between two DSC-F1s.
(a)
Confirmation of communication
When “send” of the transfer menu is executed during settings of the PLAY menu of the DSC-F1, the “communication
start signal” is output every 10 seconds.
On the other hand, when “receive” of the transfer menu is executed at the receiving side DSC-F1, and it receives the
“communication start signal”, and outputs the “reception start signal”.
The transferring side DSC-F1 starts data transfer according to this “reception start signal”.
After “send” or “receive” is executed, if it is not confirmed by the other party within one minute, “error” is displayed on
the LCD and data transfer is stopped.
(Reference) Transfer start process
Regardless of whether transfer was started first or reception was started first, data transfer is started within about 10
seconds.
Basically, data transfer will be started smoothly when the receiving side is executed first and then the transferring side.
(b) Data Transfer
First, the total number of the transfer data is transferred. After this, the index image data and full image data are
transferred one image at a time. Images being transferred are displayed on the LCD.
The image data is transferred in the JPEG compressed form.
Although the transfer time differs according to the image quality mode, one image is transferred in about 10 seconds at
the longest.
When communication errors occur due to noise, etc., reconfirmation of the communication is performed.
At this time, if communication is not recovered within about 10 seconds, error is displayed and communication is
stopped.
(Reference) The transferred images are displayed on the LCD up-side down
Images exposed are displayed as they are on the LCD during data transfer. Consequently, when a face-to-face shooting
is performed, images exposed are displayed up-side down.
Even when images are rotated and stored, they will be displayed on the LCD as they were before rotation.
However, as the “rotation angle data” is transferred together with the image data, images are automatically corrected
when displayed at the receiving side, the same images as those finally transferred are transferred.
(c)
End of communication
When all image data is received, the “communication end signal” is output from the receiving side, and data
communication is ended.
