switch (IC1324) and the video amplifier (IC1326), and converted to the component video signals
(Y/U/V). In addition, the chroma decoder (IC1320) adjusts various features (such as hue, sharpness,
and color density) using the serial data signal (U-SDA) from the main system controller (IC2601).
The component video signal output from the chroma decoder (IC1320) is output to the
COMPONENT VIDEO MONITOR OUT terminal via the video amplifier (IC1319) and the relays
(RY1306 and RY1307).

(ii) S-terminal signal input
• Output to the S-terminal
(P.31)
As for the S-terminal signal (Y/C) input of each source, the Y-signal is input to the source
selectors (IC408 and IC410), and the C-signal to the REC selectors (IC407 and IC409).
The source selectors output the signal specified by the INPUT SELECTOR. The REC selectors
output the signal specified by the REC SELECTOR.
The video output is input to the Y-signal selector (IC411) and the C-signal selector (IC412), and
the signal is selected according to the REC SELECTOR setting.
It is output to the video amplifiers (IC401 and IC402), and then output from the S-output
terminals (VIDEO1 OUT, VIDEO2 OUT, and VIDEO3 OUT).

• Output to the S-monitor terminal
(P.31, P.32)
As for the S-terminal signal input, its video signal is input to the selectors (IC407, IC408, IC409,
and IC410), and the selected analog video output is input to the OSD switch (IC1327).
The OSD switch (IC1327) output is input to the video amplifiers (IC403 and IC404) via the OSD
switch (IC1327) and the S-video switch (IC1322), and then output to the monitor out terminals
(OUT1 and OUT2).

In addition, the TV information (wide/letter box) transmitted as the DC element of the C-signal in
the S-terminal input is identified by the detector (IC405), and then the DC element is overlapped to
the S-terminal monitor out output by the switches (Q401-Q404).

• Output to the D5 video monitor terminal (J-model only) and output to the component terminal

The signal path up to the point where the signal is input to the OSD switch (IC1327) is the same
as that of the S-terminal monitor output. The actions after the OSD switch (IC1327) are the same as
that of “(i) Composite signal input – Output to the component terminal”.
