2. Control Circuit
  (1) System controller
(i) Starting up
 (P.27)

The main system controller (IC2601) and the sub system controller (IC2701) control virtually all
the operations of the unit. These system controllers work as long as AC voltage is supplied.

When the unit starts up, the sub system controller (IC2701) starts up first with the reset signal
from the reset signal generator (IC2706). The main system controller (IC2601) starts up a little later
by the reset signal output from the sub system controller (IC2701 19-pin).

(ii) Backing up the customer settings
(P.27)

Settings such as customer settings are recorded in the EEPROM (IC2603) connected to the main
system controller (IC2601), and the data is read at startup and written at shutdown.

(iii) Detecting and displaying key inputs
(P.33)

Input from the front keys on the main unit is detected by the main system controller (IC2601). The
displays on the FL tube and of the LED are controlled by the output from the main system controller
(IC2601).

(iv) Remote controller input/output, and CONTROL-S signal input/output
 (P.33, P.27)

As for the remote controller input, the input from the light receiver on the front of the unit is
detected by the receiver (IC701), and the SIRCS signal is input to the main system controller
(IC2601 51-pin). The signal is output from the CONTROL-S OUT terminal via the CONTROL-S
interface (IC3501).

The remote controller signal that is input from the CONTROL-S IN terminal is detected by the
main system controller (IC2601 51-pin) via the CONTROL-S interface (IC3501).

The infrared output to the remote controller is output from the sub microprocessor (IC2701), and
the SIRCS signal is output as an infrared signal on the LED.

(v) RS-232C circuit
(P.33)

The RS-232C circuit is used to update the microprocessor operation program. The main system
controller (IC2601) is responsible for establishing RE-232C-signal communication. A voltage shift
takes place in the signal at the RS-232C driver (IC3501).
