II. Circuit Operation

For the following circuit performance description, refer to the block diagram in the
TA-DA9000ES Service Manual. The page number in ( ) is the one on which the circuit is described.

1. Power Supply Circuit
  (1) Starting up the sub system controller
(P.34)
When AC voltage is input from the AC plug, B+5V is output by the sub power transformer (T2)
and the +5V REG (IC12). The sub system controller (IC2701) starts up through this process.

  (2) Starting up the main system controller
(P.34)
STB+3.3V is output by the 3.3V REG (IC2601) from B+5V for the sub system controller, and
voltage is supplied to the main system controller (IC2601). Then, when the reset signal is sent from
the sub system controller (IC2701 19-pin) to the main system controller, the main system controller
starts up.

  (3) Turning on the power of the unit
(P.27)

If the wakeup key of the unit detects the remote controller input or key input, the main system
controller switches the relay (RY1 and RY2) at the two relay outputs (IC2601 75- and 76-pin), and
AC voltage is output to the main power transformer (T1).

In the process of switching the relay, RY1 is turned on first, and then RY2 is turned on, and finally
RY1 is turned off.

  (4) Operations after the power is turned on

When AC voltage is input to the main power transformer, operation voltage is automatically
generated from the regulators at various points. However, the following operation voltages are
output only in the special operation modes.

(i) Voltage for the i.LINK circuit
(P.25, P.34)

Only when the i.LINK function is activated, the power switches (Q3551 and Q3552) are switched
at the serial data output (IC2601 37-pin) of the main system controller and the decoder output
(IC2461 3-pin), and voltage is supplied to the regulators (IC3551, IC3004, and IC3010) for the
i.LINK circuit.

You can switch whether or not to always supply voltage to the i.LINK circuit in the CUSTOMIZE
menu setting.
