Preventing Paper Jams When Feeding From Duplex
(caused by excessive  paper curl).
SYMPTOM 1 (Jam at Fusing Front) (All Above Models)
Symptom :-
Paper with the edges curled upwards (

∪
) may catch the fusing cover, or touch
the upper heat roller, causing a jam at the fusing front.
Action :-
If this problem occurs add the FUSING GUIDE SHEET to guide the curled
paper into the fuser section and also, change the GUIDE COVER (P/G 19-67
for SF-2030, P/G 18-67 for SF-2040 & P/G 16-67 for AR-5132) to the new
shaped item. INSERT THESE ITEMS ON THE FRONT FRAME SIDE
ONLY (SEE BELOW FOR FITTING INSTRUCTIONS). Factory action has
been taken since September 1998 production.

Symptom :-
Paper with the edges curled upwards (

) to a great extent may touch the PC
SENSOR PROTECT SHEET (P/G 17-78 for SF-2030 & P/G 16-78 for    
SF-2040) and is folded at this side of the lead edge, or it may cause a paper
jam before entering the fuser.
Action :-
The PC SENSOR PROTECT SHEET has changed to that used in the        
AR-5132. Factory action has been taken from August 1998 production.

Action :-
The diameter of the CLUTCH SPRING (P/G 41-35 for SF-2030, P/G 42-35
for SF-2040 & P/G 33-35 for AR-5132) has been reduced to improve the
transporting ability of the pick-up roller. Factory action has been taken since
April 1998 production.
