Image processing circuit
Each CCD (CCD(F), CCD(B)) is driven by the drive pulses put out from each GA-SEN pulse generation circuit.
The image analog signals put out from the CCD (F) and the CCD(B) are converted by A/D converters (IC1003, IC1004,
IC1005, IC1006, IC1009, IC1010) to digital signals for the R, G, and B components, and they are given as input to the
image input processing gate arrays GA-SEN (IC1012, IC1013).
As the R, G, and B sensors of the CCD are arranged staggered in the subscanning direction, The GA-SEN performs
line deviation correction after shading correction has been performed, and then the signal is put out via the MOTHER
Board as input to the image processing gate array GA-IMG (IC3000) on the INTERFACE Board. The Shading RAM
and the Line Correction RAM connected to the GA-SEN store these processing calculation data temporarily.
And GA-SEN has a built-in pulse generation circuit for chopping drive of the lamps, and the lamps are driven via Lamp
Drivers (LAMP INVERTER).
The GA-IMG performs MTF correction and image processing like binary-coded processing, pseudo-gradation processing
(dithering, error diffusion processing), color drop-out processing, or etc. The intermediate data during processing are stored
temporarily in DRAM.
(In case of JPEG compression for color images or gray scale images, the image data are compressed by the GA-IMG.)
The GA-IMG also controls SCSI Controller and USB Controller.
At last, all the data which have been processed by the GA-IMG are put out to the PC via the SCSI controller and SCSI
connector, or via USB Controller and USB connector.
