1.2.4.3A CLASS 0I EQUIPMENT Equipment having
attachment plug without earthing blade, where
protection against electric shock is achieved by:
- using BASIC INSULATION, and
- providing externally an earth terminal or a lead
wire for earthing in order to connect those
conductive parts that might assume a
HAZARDOUS VOLTAGES in the event of BASIC
INSULATION fault to the PROTECTIVE
EARTHING CONDUCTOR in the building wiring.
NOTE – Class 0I equipment may have a part
constructed with Double Insulation or Reinforced
Insulation circuit.
1.2.4.3A CLASS 0I EQUIPMENT Equipment having
attachment plug without earthing blade, where
protection against electric shock is achieved by:
- using BASIC INSULATION, and

not be designed as Class I or Class 0I equipment
unless it is intended to be installed by service
personnel.
