If Cougar 2k, disconnect all 
peripherals and test (eg RADF). If the 
machine records a U5 error code, the 
copier will not complete its self test 
successfully 
 
If IC22 is replaced, use Sim 80-09 to 
reset all default settings..

Dropping developer. 

Check front and rear frame DV seals 
for wear or damage. Use modified DV 
seals :- 

PSEL-0754FCZ2 & PSEL-0755FCZ2. 

All 

Machine stops in the middle of a 
copy/print job with the message 
“Adjust paper guides on the cassette” 
(same paper size being used 
throughout the job). 

Defective IC22 – replace. 
 
Also check all destination and 
language settings in Sim 26..

Slow running. 

Check all paper feed tyres – replace if 
worn. (The paper feed will retry up to 
5 times before indicating a misfeed). 
On AR280/285/335 models, check 
Sim 26-15 Fuser Curl Prevention 
(change from 2 to 0)

Poor fusing after the machine has sat 
at idle for approx 5-10 minutes. 

Check & clean all fuser thermistors – 
replace if necessary. Also check the 
fuser temperature setting using Sim 
43.

Not recognising the manual bypass 
tray. 

Check for loose connection on the MF 
bypass harness. Perform Sim 40-02 
to adjust width settings. Also check for 
a loose magnet (PG 36-10).

Erratic scanner operation/lock ups. 

Check for MC/TC arching. Check both 
TC lift angles for damge etc.

“Read End” message is displayed 
when copying a single page. 

Sort mode is selected. Change output 
default setting to group mode.

Unable to staple in “Covers” mode 
with AR-FN2 installed. 

Bypass tray disabled when using Off-
Set tray. Reset in “Custom Settings”.
