After completion of diagnostics, use APLD to load previously saved
data to the RAM disk. For loading procedure, refer to the ER-
A850/A880 application program loader. 

The RAM diagnostics is used to test the standard memory, the ex-
tended memory, and the RAM disk. 
The menu shown below is displayed. The highlighted cursor is moved
with the cursor up key (

↑

) and the cursor down key (

↓

) of the AT key.

Move the highlighted cursor to the diagnostics item to be executed,
then press the Enter key, and selected individual diagnostics program
will be executed. After completion of the individual diagnostics pro-
gram, the display returns to the menu screen of the RAM diagnostics.
Pressing the Esc key returns to the service-man diagnostics menu
screen.

Check contents
All memory areas are tested with every 64KB as a unit in the
following procedures:

i.

Test data 5555H is written to the whole test areas. 

ii. Test data and read data are compared with every word as a

unit. If it is O.K., test data AAAAH is written to the test area. iii.
Test data and read data are compared with every word as a
unit. If it is O.K., test data 5555H is written to the test area. 

iv. Test data 0000H is written to the whole test areas. 

v.

Test data and read data are compared with every word as a
unit. If it is O.K., test data FFFFH is written to the test area. 

vi. Test data and read data are compared with every word as a

unit. If it is O.K., test data 0000H is written to the test area. 
The standard memory test is performed in the following proce-
dures:

i.

Address areas from 040000H to 09FFFFH are checked with
every 64KB as a unit. 

ii.

Data in address 000000H to 03FFFFH is copied to address
400000H or later, and data in address 000000H to 03FFFFH
is checked with every 64KB as a unit. 
The extended memory area test is performed by reading the
set up value and testing up to the area with every 64KB as a
unit.

The extended memory size shows the set up value. The error
address and bits are displayed only when there is an error. (If
there is no error, no display is given.)

Exiting 
After displaying the check result, pressing the Esc key will exit
from this check mode.

Check contents
The standard RAM disk area (600000H 

∼

 6FFFFFH) is checked

with every 64KB test area as a unit. The test procedures are as
follows:

i.

Test area data is saved into the main memory.

ii.

Test data 5555H is written to the whole test areas. 

iii.

Test data and read data are compared with every word as a
unit. If it is O.K., test data AAAAH is written to the test area. 

iv. Test data and read data are compared with every word as a

unit. If it is O.K., test data 5555H is written to the test area. 

v.

Test data 0000H is written to the whole test areas. 

vi. Test data and read data are compared with every word as a

unit. If it is O.K., test data FFFFH is written to the test area. 

vii. Test data and read data are compared with every word as a

unit. If it is O.K., test data 0000H is written to the test area. 

viii. Write the saved test data into the test area.

When an error occurs during the test, the error address and
data are displayed and the test is terminated. 
When a POFF interruption is made during the test, the test
operation is terminated and the saved data is written into the
test area within 50ms.

Check contents
The extended RAM disk area (700000H 

∼

 7FFFFFH) is checked

with every 64KB test area as a unit. The test procedures are as
follows:

i.

55AAH is written into 7FFFFFH.

ii.

7FFFFFH is read and compared with 55AAH. If the both data
are correct, the following test is performed. If not, the display
shows "Extended RAM Disk size : 0KB" and the test is termi-
nated. 

iii.

Save the test area data into the main memory.
