General
The Orderman-system is transmitting in a special frequency-band (433 MHz) and therefore
is less susceptible for disturbances than system that is working in high-used frequency-
ranges like WLAN or company-radio.
There are two different transmission-protocols for the Orderman-system – the “Online“-
protocol and the “XML“-protocol.
For the usage at UP-3500-systems the XML-protocol is mandatory – at the base-station of
the Orderman-systems the so-called DSP-module has to be installed.
Therefore Mobile Order Terminal has to be selected, that support this protocol. Currently
these are DON and MAX.
The “XML“-protocol features by a smaller amount of data to be transmitted. Thus resulting
in comparatively high communication-speed, but combined with fixed display-layout.
The “Online”-protocol would offer free control of the display, but results in longer
transmissions, and therefore is not used.
Please note:- Program data from previous version ROM such as 1.00 or 1.01 is
NOT compatible with the Orderman ROM V1.11
An SD-Card Backup which has been made from a prior Firmware version (<=
V1.11) is not compatible with this new Firmware version and can not be
restored.
