1. Battery Life
Q. How can we check the currently fitted battery life
A. Once a Table has been selected you can touch the “Don” or “Max” symbol,
this will display the Battery State
2. Price Change
Q. Is it possible to change the price of a PLU from the OM Terminal.
A. If you touch the item on the screen before it has been layed away you can
select a number of options for this line, including Price Level as well as Quantity,
Free text message and sort group.
3. Channel Number
Q.What is needed to change the Base Station RF channel to match the Handheld
A. You need to run the OSC (software) go to Flags and change the RF Channel
then download this to the BS, after this you will need to go into the extended
Menu area on the OM handheld and change the Channel number.
4. Quantity print on KP
Q. Is it possible to remove the “1 x” print before the free text message when
sending from the Orderman Terminal?
A. Yes, you would have to change the setting at the ECR
(PGM2/Settings/Optional/Print Select 2 “QTY=1 Print on KP = NO”

5. Flashing
Q. What is the flashing number in the top right hand corner indicating?
A. This is showing RF Channel number that the terminal is set up for (the base
station should be the same or there will be RF Connection error
.

Q. How do I find out which RF Channel number the base station is set to?
A. Go to Extended Menu and perform a scan, the RF Channel in range will be
displayed
7. Setup menu
Q. How do I get into the Orderman “Set Up Menu” and “Extended Menu”?
A. 1. Power of Terminal, 2. Touch screen and at same time press the power on
button, wait for calibrate to appear on screen. 3. Press the power on button
again. You should now be in Orderman set up screen.

once then press the power on button again.
You are now in Extended Menu.
8. Connection error
Q.  “RF CONNECTION ERROR”
A. This means there is something wrong with the RF connection, ususlly the RF
Channel between the bas Station and the Hand Held is not the same.
9. Channel Number
Q.  How do I change the RF Channel on the Hand held to match that of the Base
station.
A. The base station channel number may be flashing in the top right hand corner
of the terminal, go to extended menu, select RF Channel and select the channel
number to the same as the Base station.
10. Freezing
Q.  The OM terminal seemed to be stuck on the SYNC DATA BASE screen with
the ARTICLES being downloaded.
A. After a program change on the OM terminal this database sync can take upto
5 mins
11. Power Save
Q. Can I change the Power Off timeout?
A. Go to Extended Menu select the Timeout icon and inn here you can set the
Power Off or the Backlight timers.
12. Table number text
Q.  Can I change the text for GLU Number to Table Number on the OM terminal
A. Yes, you can change certain texts through the OSC software perform a “get”
data and select Text Translation Table from here you can change the text that is
displayed on the OM terminal.
13. Busy
Q.  “ECR ERROR. Errorcode BUSY” appears on the OM terminal
A. This was because the ECR was in PGM or Service mode, the ECR must be in
REG mode
14. Tables
Q.  Is it possible to set a range of tables per handy terminal
A.  Yes, you can go into System Menu and enter the SECRET Code 2545 select
Table set-up and then set the range
15. Default Server / Waiter
Q.  Is it possible to have a default Waiter assigned on the OM terminal at power
on.
A. Yes, go into SETUP Screen select User Flags then page down for “Use Default
Waiter” and select this.
16. Default Waiter
Q.  How do I select my default waiter?
A. Go into SETUP Screen select, Configuration and from the Waiter Name
Selection select the waiter.
17. Transmit message
Q. Transmit message stays on the OM screen after send job
A. The ECR had a Table opened before putting it into New Balance
18. Orderman PLU programming
Q. How do we get the PLU items onto the Handy Terminal?
A. Run OSC get updates then click on PLU/Scancode assignments here you can
change the PLU from your ECR and drag to the key area of the OM.
19. No Authority
Q. No Authority is displayed on the OM when trying to open a table
A. This is because there is a setting at job 919B
20. Final
Q. How do I get an intermediate FINAL style Bill for my customer?
A. Go back to “select a table” enter the table number followed by 2

Q. Can I show the customer the amount outstanding on the OM?
A. Yes, open the table and press the Subtot key the amount will be displayed.

Q. Can I print an intermediate bill showing all the items entered so far?
A. Yes, open the table and press the Subtot key then select the Print function.

Q. How do I sign on with a different Clerk?
A. On the OM go into setup, choose configuration and from here select the Clerk
you want to operate with.
24. Table
Q. How do I exit from a Table on the OM.?
A. Touching the box that contains the Table number will return you to the select
open table screen.
25. Split Bill
Q. Can I perform a Split Bill function?
A. Yes, create a Split Bill key and follow the on screen instructions.

Q. How would I create a Split Bill Key?
A. There are two ways of doing this, using the OSC software you could click on
PLU/Scancode assignment and create the Split Bill key to the OM keyboard
Alternatively you could reconfigure one of the standard keys such as the “C” to
be split Bill at the ECR

Q. How do I produce an “Intermediate” bill
A. Re-open the Table, press the “Subtot” key and select the Print key from the
OM screen, This will show all items entered.
28. Updates
Q. When is the OM handheld updated with program changes made in OSC
software
A. At next time of Clerk sign on with the cable connected between the ECR and
