The PAS NetWare print server integrates a NetWare server with PAS 
print tracking features. This integrates a number of cooperating 
software components on your network, as shown in the following 
table.

• supports the SM Printer Gateway

• communicates with both the printers and the account-

ing server service on the Windows NT server

• communicates with NetWare NDS Queues and the 

accounting server service on the Windows NT server

• functions as a Windows NT service
• coordinates the activity of all PAS components
• handles account management requests; controls data-

base access

• calculates charges, assigns them to appropriate print-

ing account

• stores information about printing transactions, print-

ing accounts and balances, printers, printer costs, and 
scheduled events

Allows the system administrator to:
• create and configure NDPS print server objects

Allows the system administrator to:
• configure and monitor Software Metrics server com-

ponents

• assign costs to printers and copiers
