A. Installation of the developer cartridges
1) Open the front cover.
2) Turn the lock lever until it stops to release the lock, and
remove the waste toner box.
3) Turn the lock lever to the horizontal position to release the
lock, and open the drum positioning plate unit.
4) Shake the developer cartridge 5 - 6 times horizontally, and remove the
protection material from the developer cartridge.
Insert the developer cartridge straight and horizontally until it locks.
NOTE: When handling the developer cartridge, do not touch
the magnet roller section and the shutter section.
5) While pressing the developer cartridge, pull out the heat seal
straight.
NOTE: If the heat seal is pulled out with a strong force or
diagonally, it may be broken off. Be sure to pull it slowly
and straight.
After pulling out the heat seal completely, check to
confirm that there is a red mark at the edge of the heat
seal.
If there is no red mark, it means that the heat seal has
been broken. In such a case, the developer cartridge
must be replaced with a new one.
Precautions when installing developer cartridges manufactured
from November 9, 2009 to January 8, 2010.
< Confirming the manufactured date >
Confirm the manufactured date from the QR code label on the DV
unit bottom surface or attached to the aluminum foil bag. (Refer to
the image below)
* The 8 digits circled above
- Left 4 digits Year (CE; the sample in the image is ‘2010’)
- Right 4 digits Month/Day (The sample in the image is ‘0108’ or
January 8))
The bottom edge of the developer seal for the above lot production of
developer cartridge can have small scratch at edge of seal.
There is a possibility that broken the developer seal at the middle position if
followed the way which is mentioned in the instruction manual.
If the developer seal is not removed completely and used it, enough toner
will not be supply into the developing unit and can cause of miss-coloring.
To prevent this error, remove the developer seal by performing the following
way.
○
1
Hold the developer seal at the green label part, and pulled the
developer seal slowly on the straight (about 20 cm).
Don't pull more than 20 cm position at this stage.
Don't pull more than 20 cm position at this stage.
○
2
Twist the green label of the developer seal counter-clockwise
one full rotation. This process will turn the damaged edge of
the developer seal inwards, preventing friction with the
developer unit case and reducing the force to seal.
○
3
Refer to the figure below and slowly pull the developer seal at
about a 30 degree angle. This process will prevent friction
between edges of the developer seal and developer unit case.
6) Close the lock cover of the developer cartridge.
