The AR250 – 507 range of copiers will require their PCU, ICU and Operational Panel flash
memory cards upgrading as new Firmware becomes available.

A Flash ROM Exchange Scheme has been set up with T P Maintenance so that dealers
can obtain pre-programmed updated flash memory cards. As an alternative to the
exchange scheme, the upgrade of flash cards can be performed manually. The following

To perform an upgrade, the following items will be required:-

Flash Memory Download Program “Flash5.exe”
•
Flash Memory Upgrade Files.
•
A minimum of one spare ICU Flash Card
•
Laptop PC with applicable operating system (Win95/98/ME/2000).
•
SCSI PCMCIA card and cable(Adaptec Slim SCSI 1460B recommended)

The earlier Windows 95 operating systems encounter driver conflicts with some SCSI
devices. Because of this, Windows 95 version “a” will require the Microsoft patch file
“IOSUPD.exe” upgrade before it can be used with the Adaptec 1460 SCSI PCMCIA card.
The full version of Windows 98 (not an upgraded copy) will require an update to the
“WNASPI32.DLL” file in order to overcome the “Flash5.exe” file not opening.
To install or upgrade ASPI drivers on Windows 98SE, ME & 2000, download ForceASPI 1.7
from either SharpEye CD1 or from the following website :-

Unplug the copiers power cord and remove the following covers:
Glass
Holding
Plate
Copy
Board
Glass
Dark Box Cover
If you have a female/female SCSI connector and the AR-PB2A has already been fitted to
the copier, this connector can now be directly connected between the AR-PB2A SCSI
cable and your Laptop SCSI cable.
