Venta System Maintenance

Modifier:
  The system will display the modifier code according to the product code you have entered.
A modifier description is displayed for non-zero modifiers.  This field cannot be changed.  To change
the modifier code, you must enter a different product code before saving the new product.
Department:
  Enter a valid code to specify the department of the product.  The department name is
displayed.  The department is used to classify products for sales analysis reporting.  Please note that
the department code must be assigned to a group before you can allocate a product to the
department.
VAT Code:
 Enter the code to indicate the VAT rates (A-F) for this product.  The VAT rate codes are
set up in System Parameters.
Price Level 1 - 4:
 Up to four different selling prices may be entered for the item.  For example, Price 1
may be the regular selling price, Price 2 and 3 may be the Happy Hour selling prices, and Price 4 may
be the VIP price.  The price the terminal will implement depends upon the price level set in the
Special Prices and Till Parameters functions.
Discountable:
 This flag is used to enable or disable an item or subtotal discount on the product.
Press the SPACEBAR to set the discountable flag to ALL, Staff Only or No.  Press ENTER to confirm
the selection and move onto the next field.
Price Flag:
 Press the SPACEBAR until the price flag required is displayed.  Press ENTER to confirm
the selection and move onto the next field.  Available price flags are: -
Preset 
-
When the product is registered at the terminal, the item is sold
according to the relevant price level.
Non-Priced
-
A product with no selling price set.  This could be used to force the
server to enter the price at the terminal when the item is sold.
Price-Check
-
The price (according to the relevant price level) is displayed when the
product is registered at the terminal.  The server must confirm that
the price is correct, or enter a new price.
Type:
 Press the SPACEBAR until the product type required is displayed.  Press ENTER to confirm
the selection and move onto the next field.  Available product types are: -
General
-
General product.
Extra
-
Extra portion.  Please note that products set as extras are chargeable
if a price has been set.
Condiment
-
Used only for the main product of a condiment.  The List for
Condiment must also be set (see field description below).
Qualifier
-
Cooking method or instructions, zero priced.
Dummy
-
Used to allow a condiment item to be selected separately, usually a
dessert.  This item must be on two menu lists; one, which includes
the main product of the condiment and the other as, the only item on
NOTE:  Department number zero may be used for items, which do not require a department, for
example, qualifiers.
NOTE:  The price level the system will implement is identified at server entry and will not change
until the next time a server number is entered.  For example, if a Happy Hour is currently
running, the Happy Hour price band will be in use.  However, if the Happy Hour period
ends during the transaction entry the normal prices will be reinstated when the next
server signs on, not in the middle of the Happy Hour transaction.
