Press A to add a product to the file.
When you choose to add a product to the file, the fields are cleared, and you can enter the details of
the new product.

PLU Code:
Enter the product code, which is the unique identifier for this product, up to eight digits.
The last digit (0-9) will be used by the system to determine whether this product is a modified item.
Where the last digit is zero (0), the product is not used with a modifier key. If the last digit is 1-9, the

Description:
Enter a description for the product, up to fifteen characters. The description is
displayed in other maintenance functions when the product code is entered and also on the terminals
when the item is sold. The only exception to this is if the product description is changed on a list
menu.

Barcode:
Enter a numeric code, which will be used to identify this product at each terminal. A
product may have more than one barcodes assigned to it or none at all. The code will normally be
the EAN number of the product’s barcode. These numbers are usually 13 or 8 digits long, and
include a check digit, although up to 14 characters may be entered. If less than 14 characters are
entered, the system will fill the preceding digits with zeros. The system will also warn you if the check
