(FILES)
GENERAL
One of the most common causes of machines malfunctioning is a
result of errors connected with the files.
Most of the files used on the ECR are self explanatory however in
this guide we will try to explain some of the other files, and the
consequences of these files being absent or set incorrectly.
You should always check that the files your machine is using are
set to the correct size.
The Sharp ECR will always try to automatically set the Correct file
size, however if there is a problem with the amount of memory
space available then it is possible that the ECR will skip one file
creation and go onto create the next file it has space for.
Therefore you may be called out to a system that is not producing
PLU sales data.
After investigation you would find that the relevant file for example
file number 40 has not been created.
One recommendation that we would make is to assign a journal
printer to your machine before file creation or IRC set up is
performed.
This will then print any messages that could be acted upon such
as file not created due to insufficient memory.
There are circumstances that can cause memory corruption and
the result of this may be that the files have become corrupt.
1.  Poor Mains supply
2.  Standard memory or Option Memory not having been Master
Reset before the initial programming began.
3.  Incorrect fitting of Options such as Memory of Boards.
4.  Bugs in one machine being transferred to another machine
5.  Incorrect transfer of program from PC to EPoS.
