TROUBLESHOOTING
(MASTER/SLAVE
)
The ER-A770 has the capability to be part of a Networked system.
This means that the Master machine can be used to download
program jobs, to consolidate sales reports and to control Clerk and
Table information, if required.(This applies to most of the Sharp
ECR/EPOS)
The terms often used to describe this network are SRN (Sharp
Retail Network) or IRC (Inter Register Communications) they both
refer to a system where there is a Master and Satellites
configuration.
It is very important to set up network systems using the correct
standard procedures.
If the correct procedures are followed it will result in a smooth
installation with no unnecessary problems
This is a the procedure that should always be followed:-
First, set the correct service pre-set lines that are required,
Second, create the correct files that are required.
Third, The IRC can then be set up
REMEMBER THIS “900 files for IRC”
.
This will help you to always remember that the Service lines
should be set up first then the relevant files should be created and
then after these jobs have been performed the IRC set up should
be performed.
If for any reason the Service lines or Files have to be changed on
an already existing IRC system then you should perform the IRC
set-up again after doing these changes.
(Only if you are absolutely sure that the lines or files you have
changed have no affect on the I.R.C can you proceed without
introducing the IRC again.)
