Your Festival 40 Surround System consists of the following components:
Festival 40 5-Channel Power Amplifier
The Festival 40 power amplifier, designed with wide
bandwith and very high current capability (HCC),
technologies which have made Harman Kardon
separate components world famous for more than
four decades, provides equal power to all five
channels.
Place the Festival 40 components on a firm, level
surface which can safely support the weight of the
system. You may place the components side by side
with the controller in the middle or stacked one on
top of the other. However, if you stack the
components, always place the  Amplifier on top to
ensure free air circulation. The ventilation openings in
the top and sides of the Amplifier must never be
blocked.
Festival 40 3-CD Changer
The sophisticated 3-CD carrousel features 3D
Bitstream digital-to-analog converters with a 4 times
oversampling digital filter for fine audio performance
and Random Play, three Repeat modes (1 track, 1 CD
or all CD's) and 30-track programming for ultimate
flexibility and convenience.
Festival 40 Controller/RDS Tuner
This module contains the preamplifier, AM/FM RDS
tuner and Dolby Pro Logic surround decoder. Unlike
most compact systems, Festival allows convenient
connection to additional audio and video source
components such as DVD, Minidisc, cassette or
video. To allow you to keep pace with rapidly
changing developments in the field of digital surround
sound, the Festival 40 controller also features 6-
channel direct Inputs for connection to external
surround decoders for Dolby Digital, DTS, or other
future formats.
Always check that all components in the system are
turned off before making or changing any
connections.
To ensure many years of error-free performance, we strongly recommend that you study this guide thoroughly
and follow the instructions for connection, set-up and daily use.
