MX-FN12  OPERATIONAL DESCRIPTIONS  4 – 3
5. Staple mode
When the operation mode command is received from the copier,
the finisher starts the transport operation.
A. Reception of paper discharged from the main
unit
1)
The rear edge take-up roller solenoid (FARLS) is turned ON to
lift the rear edge take-up roller.
2)
The paper transport motor (FPTM) is driven at the speed same
as the paper delivery speed of the main unit (the speed is
decelerated for the second and later sheets), and paper dis-
charged from the main unit is received.
3)
When the paper rear edge passes the delivery roller of the
main unit, the paper transport motor (FPTM) is accelerated to
500mm/sec. At the same time, the paper alignment motor F
(FPAM-F) and the paper alignment motor R (FPAM-R) are
driven to put the paper alignment plate F in the standby mode
at the staple alignment position and the paper alignment plate
R outside of the paper width.
B. Paper alignment and stapling
1)
After the paper rear edge passes the paper pass roller, the
paper delivery motor (FPDM) is driven in the alignment direc-
tion at 500mm/sec, and the take-up roller is rotated and low-
ered to take up the paper rear edge to the rear edge plate. At
the same time, the rear edge take-up roller solenoid (FARLS)
is turned ON to lift the rear edge take-up roller.
2)
When the paper rear edge detector F (FPRD-F) is turned ON,
the paper delivery motor (FPDM) is driven in the paper delivery
direction at 500mm/sec, and the take-up roller is lifted and the
paper delivery roller is rotated.
3)
After a certain time from turning ON the paper rear edge detec-
tor F (FPRD-F), the paper alignment motor R (FPAM-R) is
driven to align paper to the stapling position.
4)
The rear edge take-up roller solenoid (FARLS) is turned OFF
and the rear edge take-up roller is lowered. When two or more
sheets are aligned, the paper alignment motor R (FPAM-R) is
driven to shift the paper alignment plate R to the home posi-
tion. The procedures from [A-2] are repeated for the specified
number of sheets. After completion of alignment of the speci-
fied number of sheets, the staple motor (FSM) is driven to per-
form stapling.
C. Paper delivery
1)
After stapling, the rear edge take-up roller solenoid (FARLS) is
turned ON to lift the rear edge take-up roller. At the same time,
the paper alignment motor R (FPAM-R) and the paper align-
ment motor F (FPAM-F) are driven to separate the paper align-
ment plate from paper by 1mm. At the same time, the delivery
roller lift motor (FDRLM) is driven by a certain distance to
lower the paper delivery roller, transporting the bundle of paper
to the delivery movable tray.
2)
After the paper rear edge detector F (FPRD-F) is turned OFF,
the paddle solenoid (FPS) is turned ON.
3)
After a certain time from turning OFF the paper rear edge
detector F (FPRD-F), the paper delivery motor (FPDM) is
decelerated to 200mm/sec. At the same time, the paper align-
ment motor F (FPAM-F) and the paper alignment motor R
(FPAM-R) are driven to shift the paper alignment plate to the
home position.
4)
After the paper passes the delivery roller, the delivery roller lift
motor (FDRLM) is driven upward to shift the delivery roller to
the home position.
5)
After lifting the paper delivery roller, the paddle solenoid (FPS)
is turned OFF to rotate the paper delivery paddler one turn and
to press paper with the paper level actuator.
6)
When the paddle rotates one turn, the paper delivery motor
(FPDM) is stopped.
7)
When there is the next paper, repeat the procedures from "A-
1)".
8)
When there is no next paper, each actuator is turned OFF and
the finisher operation status command is made ready to com-
plete the transport operation.
