2. Fogging due to the factor of the drum
This fogging is resolved by taking such measures against the lowering of drum surface
potential as to alter the output setting of the development bias and the grid bias, expanding
the cleaning field.
Refer to the following accompanying specification for the setting values after the alteration of
the development bias and grid bias in each model.
- DV_Bias and Grid_Bias Setting for MX-5500N/6200N/7000N
- DV_Bias and Grid_Bias Setting for MX-6201N/7001N

From August 2008 production
6. Action For Field:
Take the following steps for the solution when the fogging caused by the above-mentioned
factors happened in the machines manufactured prior to August 2008 production.
(1) Solution for the excess toner
factors happened in the machines manufactured prior to August 2008 production.
(1) Solution for the excess toner
1. Replace the developer when it is clear that the fogging has already happened.
2. Follow the ensuing steps when visual check cannot be allowed to find out the clear

(c) Replacement of the developer is not necessary when the number of values of "Procon
V0" is zero or less.
(d) Replacement of the developer is necessary when the number of values of "Procon
V0" is one or more
(2) Solution for the excessive calibration of toner density
Upgrade with the following PCU firmware:
- PCU firmware version "01.09.D0" and later for MX-5500N/6200N/7000N. (See CCE-588)
- PCU firmware version "01.05.V0" and later for MX-6201N/7001N. (See CCE-590)

- PCU firmware version "01.05.V0" and later for MX-6201N/7001N. (See CCE-590)
(3) Solution for the lowering of drum surface potential
1. Obtain the rated value of the MIDDLE mode for each color indicated on the label stuck on
the MC and DV high-voltage power supply PWB.
