Service Procedures
Chassis fan
The chassis fan is mounted on the side of the Fiery AR-PE2 pan and cools the heatsinks
on the Fiery AR-PE2 board. The chassis fan cable connects to Fiery AR-PE2 board
connector J301.

1.
Remove the chassis fan cable from board connector J301 and release the Fiery AR-PE2
board from the three metal standoffs at the base of the chassis (see Figure 3-1 on
page 3-2).

Remove the Fiery AR-PE2 board from the chassis and place the board on an anti-static
surface.

3.
Remove the two nuts that secure the chassis fan to the side of the Fiery AR-PE2 chassis.
4.
Remove the chassis fan from the two bolts on the side of the chassis.
Note the orientation of the fan. Set aside the nuts and fan.

Position the chassis fan on the two bolts in the same orientation as when the chassis fan
was removed.

Make sure the chassis fan blows air toward the Fiery AR-PE2 board after you reassemble
and turn on the system.

2.
Install the two nuts on the bolts to secure the chassis fan to the chassis.
3.
Replace the Fiery AR-PE2 board in the same orientation as when it was removed.
Be careful not to damage the chassis fan cable when replacing the board.
4.
Reassemble the Fiery AR-PE2 and verify functionality as described on page 3-19.
