5) Connect the cooling fan connector to the connector on the control-
ler board.
6) Attach the optional PWBs to the printer control PWB.
Installation of AR-NC5J (print server card)
<1> Remove the screws that secure the cover and then remove the
cover.
<2> Insert the print server card into the connector of the printer control
PWB.
<3> Secure the print server card using the removed screws.
Installation of AR-HD4 (HDD expansion unit)
<1> Among the screws on the printer control PWB, remove the three
screws at the locations (
) shown in the illustration.
<2> Insert the AR-HD4 (HDD expansion unit) to the connector of the
printer control PWB.
<3> Secure the AR-HD4 (HDD expansion unit) using the previously
removed three screws.
Installation of extended memory
Open the right and left pawls of the connector shown in the illustration
and insert the extended memory.
Then close the pawls to lock the connector.
7) Insert the printer controller unit, and fix with the four screws which
were removed in the previous procedure.
8) Connect the cables to the printer control PWB unit.
Connect the Centronics cable <1>, USB cable <2>, and LAN cable
<3> (for a model with a print server card) to the connectors of the
printer control PWB unit.
9) Turn on the main switch of the main unit.
Insert the power plug of the main unit to the outlet.
Then, turn the main switch located on the left side of the main unit
to the "ON" position.
If the machine is equipped with a facsimile unit, also turn on the
FAX power switch.
10) Check the operation.
For installation of the printer driver software on the computer, see
the supplied operation manual.
Then, execute printing from the computer to check for proper printing.
Connect.
