[5] UNPACKING AND INSTALLATION
<Before installation>
•For installation of AR-FX5, an MFP control PWB unit and a scanner unit
must have been installed.
•Start installation after checking that the communication indicator on the
operation panel is not lit or blinking.
•If the machine ROM version is older than Ver. MC.06., the FAX
expansion kit does not work. Be sure to check the ROM version and
upgrade it, if necessary, before installation of the FAX expansion kit.
1) Turn the main switch of the printer to OFF.
Turn the main switch located on the front of the printer to OFF. 
Then, remove the power plug of the printer from the outlet.
2) Remove the MFP control PWB unit.
<1>Remove the scanner cable from the printer.
<2>Remove the five screws that secure the MFP control PWB unit to the
printer.
Then, hold the two grips and pull out the MFP control PWB unit to
remove it from the printer.
3) Remove the FAX I/F cover.
Remove the two screws that secure the FAX I/F cover of the MFP
control PWB unit and remove the FAX I/F cover.
•If you need not mount an extended memory, proceed to step 5).
4) Mount an extended memory.
Mount an extended memory to the socket on the front surface of the
FAX I/F PWB unit.
5) Attach the FAX I/F PWB unit.
Connect the FAX I/F PWB unit to the FAX I/F PWB connector (100
pins) of the MFP control PWB unit and secure the unit with two
screws C.
