3. HOW TO USE THE LL-171A/G FIRMWARE PROGRAM WRITING TOOL.

The software program that needs to be written in the LL-171 series is
MPU, or firmware data.

•  RGB cable (QCNW-1041MPZZ)

• USB cable (QCNW-1027MPZZ)
•  Serial (RS232) crossing cable (QCNWG3190BHZZ)
Cables are available in the commercial item. 
1. PROCEDURE FOR WRITING FIRMWARE PROGRAM

Connect the board to the LL-171A or LL-171G.
(See the connection diagram shown later in this manual.) 
2. GET FIRMWARE UPGRADE FILES.
2-1. ISP Loader file ------- WinbondISP.zip
2-2. Program upgrade files
• LL-171A ----- SHARP_171A_FW1002.BIN
• LL-171G -----SHARP_171G_FW1003.BIN
(If the program is further upgraded, a new program upgrade file will be
released.)
3. EXPAND WINBONDISP.ZIP
The following files are expanded:
• 8051IspWriter.exe
• 8051IspWriter.ini
• comm.dll
• Default.cfg
• Icemsg.dll
• LDU30307.BIN
• Wrt78Ex.dll
4. CREATE A FOLDER IN AN APPROPRIATE LOCAL
DISK AND COPY THE ISP LOADER FILE AND PRO-
GRAM UPDATE FILES TO THAT FOLDER.

• SHARP_171G_FW1003.BIN
• 8051IspWriter.exe
• 8051IspWriter.ini
• comm.dll
• Default.cfg
• icemsg.dll

EXECUTE 8051ISPWRITER.EXE.
The following window is displayed.
[Setup]
5-1. Click [Select Chip].
Select [W78E65].
5-2. Click [Select Bank0].
•  In the case of the [LL-171A]
Select C:\FG\Sharp_171A_FW1002.BIN.
•  In the case of the [LL171G]
Select C:\FG\SHARP_171G_FW1003.BIN.
5-3. Select [Binary] as the [File Format].
5-4. Select the check box next to [Program Start at AO
ROM] at the upper right area of the window to make
[AP Baud Rate] active. Change the baud rate.
Set [AP Baud Rate] for [57600].
Then, deselect the [Program Start at AO ROM] check box to make AP
Baud Rate disable.
5-5. Make sure the settings on the window are as indicated above.
5-6. Turn on the monitor (LL-171A or LL-171G).
Set it for the ISP mode.
5-6-1. Hold down the [MODE] + [
1
] + [
3
] buttons and press the
[POWER] button.
5-6-2. The ISP window is displayed. Set it for "GO" or "ON" using
the [
1
] button.
5-6-3. Press the [MODE] button to get "GO" or "ON" out of sight. The
window returns to the ISP load status.
5-6-4. Connect the D-sub15 pin cable of the monitor to the writing
board (X1049MP-27).
5-7. With the window screen on the PC, click the [Connect].
5-7-1. When the system becomes program loadable, the [Discon-
nect] indication changes to [Connected].
5-7-2. Then, click [Program All] at the right to load the program.
5-8. When the program has been loaded, [Program OK]
appears on screen. Click [OK].
Turn off the AC power of the monitor.
5-9. Disconnect the D-sub15 pin cable of the monitor from
the writing board (X1049MP-27).
