Upgrade Method
The Standard 3 to 4 Upgrade DOES NOT support the Waitermate, there is a special extra
Upgrade that will need to be done after Version 4 Upgrade has been done. Please see the attached
documentation re the Waitermate, this is to save Disk Space if the Waitermate is not being used.
As with all Upgrades previously released there are three Batch Files UPFLASH.BAT

Used to Upgrade a Flash/Ram POS

N.B In order to make a successful Upgrade the following steps MUST be taken. Failure to
carry out this routine as stated may result in total data destruction.

Install the New Version 4 Installation Disk & Backup And Restore Software onto the PC
being used for Upgrade.

2.
Make a backup of the Customers Data using the New Backup & Restore Software.
3.
Make a note of the POS settings of RINCS.CFG and GO.BAT on the POS before

Copy the Upgrade file into a New Folder on your PC and switch to this folder.

Run the relevant Batch file either UPFLASH or UPHDD and follow the instructions

The Program will now automatically put all the New files onto the POS. This operation
must be repeated on ALL Terminals on the System.

Re-Boot the POS. A conversion will now take place of all the data files that have been
changed. DO NOT interrupt this routine. After it is completed a prompt will appear to
select The Terminal Network Configuration and Terminal Number. After this has been
done the POS will Re-Boot.

8.
On the POS edit the RINCS.CFG and GO.BAT to restore the values noted in 3.

The Upgrade is now complete.
N.B if any of the above does not function correctly restore the existing Customer Data and carry
out the upgrade again.
