UK: Apparatus which is fitted with a flexible cable
or cord and is designed to be connected to a mains
socket conforming to BS 1363 by means of that
flexible cable or cord and plug shall be fitted with
a ”standard plug” in accordance with Statutory
Instrument 1768: 1994: The Plugs and Sockets etc.
(Safety) Regulations 1994, unless exempted by
those Regulations.
NOTE ”Standard plug” is defined in SI 1768:1994
and essentially means an approved plug
conforming to BS 1363 or an approved conversion
plug.
