2-2. Wake-up operation (the internal operation of Power Control IC9001)
Fig.2-1 shows the internal block diagram of Power Control IC9001.
1. System Controller Circuit inside IC9001
When any of the input signals to pin-40 [WAKE0] through pin-46 [WAKE6] of Power Control IC9001 changes from “H” to “L”, the system controller section inside IC9001
wakes up and the WAKE(INT) signal is supplied to the internal circuit of IC9001 from the system controller section. When IC9001 enters the wake-up mode, the VREF
GENERATOR circuit inside IC9001 starts up, and the reference voltage (VREF voltage: +2.4 [V]) is generated and output from pin-36 [VREF].
The “wake-up conditions” of the model are shown in Table 2-3.
1. System Controller Circuit inside IC9001
When any of the input signals to pin-40 [WAKE0] through pin-46 [WAKE6] of Power Control IC9001 changes from “H” to “L”, the system controller section inside IC9001
wakes up and the WAKE(INT) signal is supplied to the internal circuit of IC9001 from the system controller section. When IC9001 enters the wake-up mode, the VREF
GENERATOR circuit inside IC9001 starts up, and the reference voltage (VREF voltage: +2.4 [V]) is generated and output from pin-36 [VREF].
The “wake-up conditions” of the model are shown in Table 2-3.

2. 1.10V Generator Circuit (Step-down DC-DC CONVERTER -1)
When IC9001 enters the wake-up mode and the WAKE(INT) signal is output from the system controller section, the Step-down DC-DC CONVERTER Circuit-1 inside
IC9001 starts up. This circuit is a step-down DC-DC converter circuit consisting of L9002, C9004 and the step-down circuit inside IC9001. This circuit operates as follows.
The step-down DC-DC converter circuit-1 controls the duty ratio of the PWM waveform which is output from pin-1 [VO1], with monitoring the voltage input to pin-16 [FB1] of
IC9001. By this operation, the step-down circuit works, and the 1.10V voltage (1.10 [V]) is generated.
IC9001 starts up. This circuit is a step-down DC-DC converter circuit consisting of L9002, C9004 and the step-down circuit inside IC9001. This circuit operates as follows.
The step-down DC-DC converter circuit-1 controls the duty ratio of the PWM waveform which is output from pin-1 [VO1], with monitoring the voltage input to pin-16 [FB1] of
IC9001. By this operation, the step-down circuit works, and the 1.10V voltage (1.10 [V]) is generated.
3. 1.8V Generator Circuit (Step-down DC-DC CONVERTER -2)
When IC9001 enters the wake-up mode and the WAKE(INT) signal is output from the system controller section, the Step-down DC-DC CONVERTER Circuit-2 inside
IC9001 starts up. This circuit is a step-down DC-DC converter circuit consisting of L9003, C9006 and the step-down circuit inside IC9001. This circuit operates as follows.
The step-down DC-DC converter circuit-2 controls the duty ratio of the PWM waveform which is output from pin-2 [VO2], with monitoring the voltage input to pin-17 [FB2] of
IC9001. By this operation, the step-down circuit works, and the 1.8V voltage (1.8 [V]) is generated.
IC9001 starts up. This circuit is a step-down DC-DC converter circuit consisting of L9003, C9006 and the step-down circuit inside IC9001. This circuit operates as follows.
The step-down DC-DC converter circuit-2 controls the duty ratio of the PWM waveform which is output from pin-2 [VO2], with monitoring the voltage input to pin-17 [FB2] of
IC9001. By this operation, the step-down circuit works, and the 1.8V voltage (1.8 [V]) is generated.
4. 1.3V Generator Circuit (1.3V Regulator Circuit)
When the 1.8V voltage generated by IC9001 is input to pin26 [LD1IN] and supplied to +1.3V Regulator circuit inside IC9001, 1.3V voltage is generated and output from
pin-29 [LDO1OUT] to the unit.
