The laser diode in the optical pick-up block may suffer electro-
static break-down because of the potential difference generated by 
the charged electrostatic load, etc. on clothing and the human body.
During repair, pay attention to electrostatic break-down and also 
use the procedure in the printed matter which is included in the 
repair parts.
The fl exible board is easily damaged and should be handled with 
care.

UNLEADED  SOLDER
Boards requiring use of unleaded solder are printed with the lead-
free mark (LF) indicating the solder contains no lead.
(Caution:  Some printed circuit boards may not come printed with 

the lead free mark due to their particular size)

Unleaded solder has the following characteristics.
•  Unleaded solder melts at a temperature about 40 °C higher 

than ordinary solder.

 

Ordinary soldering irons can be used but the iron tip has to be 
applied to the solder joint for a slightly longer time.

 

Soldering irons using a temperature regulator should be set to 
about 350 °C.
Caution: The printed pattern (copper foil) may peel away if 

the heated tip is applied for too long, so be careful!

• Strong 

viscosity

 

Unleaded solder is more viscous (sticky, less prone to fl ow) 
than ordinary solder so use caution not to let solder bridges 
occur such as on IC pins, etc.

•  Usable with ordinary solder
 

It is best to use only unleaded solder but unleaded solder may 
also be added to ordinary solder.

NOTE  OF  REPLACING  THE  IC102  ON  THE  DMB19C-
32NUA-JFK  BOARD
IC102 on the DMB19C-32NUA-JFK board cannot exchange with 
single. When this part is damaged, exchange the entire mounted 
board.

NOTE  OF  REPLACING  THE  IC801  AND  IC802  ON  
THE  WLAN  BOARD
IC801 and IC802 on the WLAN board cannot exchange with sin-
gle.When these parts are damaged, exchange the entire mounted 
board.

NOTE  OF  REPLACING  THE  MS-214  BOARD
When the MS-214 board is damaged, exchange the entire MD 
(AU) ASSY.

NOTES  ON  LASER DIODE  EMISSION  CHECK
The laser beam on this model is concentrated so as to be focused 
on the disc refl ective surface by the objective lens in the optical 
pickup block. Therefore, when checking the laser diode emission, 
observe from more than 30 cm away from the objective lens.

When the operation of this set is confi rmed, or this set is repaired, remote 
control (RMF-Z200) is necessary.
Confi rm main unit (NAS-Z200DiR/Z200iR) and remote control (RMF-
Z200) are prepared beforehand when you repair.

Remote control (RMF-Z200) to which this set is attached can be repaired 
by disassembling.
However, exchange the entire mounted board when each boards are defec-
tive. The mounted parts cannot be repaired.

Remote control charger (BCA-Z200) to which this set is attached can be 
repaired by disassembling.
Exchange the entire remote control charger (BCA-Z200) when remote con-
trol charger (BCA-Z200) is defective.
However, FOOT (STAND) in the bottom of remote control charger (BCA-
Z200) can be exchanged even if single.

When the following parts are exchanged, it is necessary to do the pairing 
of remote control (RMF-Z200) and main unit (NAS-Z200DiR/Z200iR).

1.  Press the [I/1] button on the main unit to turn the power on of the 

main unit.

2.  Press the PAIRING button (S001 on the TEST board) on the main unit 

for more 2 seconds.

3.  Enter the pairing waiting mode (at this time, the old pairing informa-

tion is cleared).

4.  While touching the [BACK] sensor, press the [I/1] button on the re-

mote control for more 3 seconds.

5.  The pairing of remote control (RMF-Z200) and main unit (NAS-

Z200DiR/Z200iR) is completed, and the operation of this set becomes 
possible.

It becomes impossible to operate remote control (RMF-Z200) 
when the PAIRING button (S001 on the TEST board) on the main 
unit is pressed by mistake for more 2 seconds.

 

In that case, execute the pairing operation again.
