CHECKING  METHOD  OF  NETWORK  OPERATION
It is necessary to check the network operation, when replacing the 
MOTHER board. Check the operation of wireless and wired LAN, 
according to the following method.

1.  Checking Method of Wireless LAN Operation
Check that access point is recognized surely.

Necessary Equipment:
Wireless access point with router function (AP)

Procedure:
1.  Press the [SETTINGS] button on the remote commander to 

enter the settings menu.

2.  Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Network Settings”.

3.  When “Playback and network functions cannot be used during 

the setup. Press ENTER to continue.” appears, then press the 
[ENTER] button on the remote commander.

4.  Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Connection Method”.

5.  Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Wireless LAN”.

6.  Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Access Point Scan”.

7.  The system starts searching for access points, and displays a 

list of up to 20 available network name (SSID).

8.  Check that access point (SSID) is displayed on the searching 

result.

Note: Refer to the instruction manual about details of the setting method.

2.  Checking method of wired LAN operation
Check that access point is recognized surely.

Procedure:
1.  Connect the main unit to the router or the hub, etc. with the 

LAN cable.

2.  Press the [SETTINGS] button on the remote commander to 

enter the settings menu.

3.  Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Network Settings”.

4.  When “Playback and network functions cannot be used during 

the setup. Press ENTER to continue.” appears, then press the 
[ENTER] button on the remote commander.

5.  Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Connection Method”.

6.  Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Wired LAN”.

7.  When “Save settings and check connection. Press ENTER to 

continue.” appears, then press the [ENTER] button on the re-
mote commander.

8.  Perform the server settings.
9.  Press the [SETTINGS] button on the remote commander to 

enter the settings menu.

10. Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Network Settings”.

11.  When “Playback and network functions cannot be used during 

the setup. Press ENTER to continue.” appears, then press the 
[ENTER] button on the remote commander.

12. Press the [m]/[M]/[<]/[,] buttons on the remote command-

er to select “Tools” – “Connection Diagnosis.”.

13. Check that IP address can be acquired.

Note: Refer to the instruction manual about details of the setting method.

In AEP and UK models, to correspond to new iPod and new iPhone, 
the software has been updated in the midway of production.
The instruction (for iPhone4 attachment) and dock adaptor for 
iPhone 4 are attached along with it.
When you repair this unit, it is necessary to confi rm the version 
of software.
Execute the confi rmation of the version of all repaired units.
Perform referring to the following.

Note: US and Canadian models have corresponded from production fi rst 

lot to new iPod and new iPhone.

•  Serial number that correspond to new iPod and new 

iPhone
NAS-SV20Di (UK model)  : Serial No. 6100871 or larger
NAS-SV20i (AEP model)  : Serial No. 5102871 or larger

Note: After this set is repaired even if corresponding to the above-

mentioned serial number, it is necessary to do the following 
correspondence.

•  Correspondence when repairing

Procedure:
1.  Enter the service mode referring to page 12 on this service 

manual.

2.  Execute “3-1. Micon_Version” referring to page 13 on this 

service manual.

3. Confi rm the software version. Update software referring to 

following “Update method” when the software version is 
less than 1.01.001.

Note: Software need not be updated when the software version is 

1.01.001 or larger.

•  Update method

Procedure:
1.  Connect the network.
2.  Select “System Update” in SET UP menu.
3.  Software is automatically updated to version 1.01.001.

•  Compatible new iPod/iPhone models

It is possible to correspond to following new iPod and new 
iPhone by executing the update.

• iPod touch (4th generation)

• iPod touch (3rd generation)

• iPod nano (6th generation)

• iPhone 4

Note: Refer to “Compatible iPod/iPhone models” of the cover for 

other corresponding models.
