Circuit Operation
2-1. Overview
The mechanical decks of MDS-W1, decks A and B, are completely the same. Their operation is controlled by the system
controllers on the main board (IC701 for deck A and IC901 for deck B); linked operation and the like between the decks is
done by means of communication between the system controllers

The system controllers for decks A and B are completely the same, and deck selection is done by means of 83-pin input. The
system controllers back up disc UTOC data on internal memory. If the power supply plug has been unplugged before UTOC
data has been recorded on a disc, the 3V lithium-manganese rechargeable battery (C111) will supply “B. UP + 3.3V” voltage
to the system controllers. When the charging battery is fully charged, UTOC data can be retained for about one month.

Display/LED indicator and key-input detection is done using the master controller (IC801). The master controller backs up
to internal memory the DEMO mode status (ON/OFF), input source recording level setting, and other settings and retains such
data until the power supply cord is unplugged.
