Using the ES-1000
The ES-1000 is a hand-held
spectrophotometer
 that measures the
spectral light
 reflected
from printed output and other colored materials. Since the ES-1000 accurately measures
both the
density
and color of printed output, it is an effective tool for calibrating the
Fiery X3eTY2.
The ES-1000 is available as a separately purchased option.
Setting up the ES-1000
To use the ES-1000 for calibration purposes, you must set it up for use with your computer.
For complete instructions on setting up and calibrating the ES-1000, see the documentation
that accompanies the ES-1000.
The following illustration shows the different parts of the ES-1000.
Calibrating the ES-1000
When you place the ES-1000 in the calibration cradle, white point calibration is used to
calibrate the spectrophotometer. Make sure the sample aperture is in full contact with the
white tile on the calibration cradle.
