MX-M1100  MAINTENANCE  9 – 2
2. Life end definition
A. Definition of the drum life end
When the drum counter exceeds the specified level with 100% B/W
output, it is judged as life end.
In an actual use, wear is not solely determined by the copy quantity
but other operating conditions. Therefore, the number of rotations
of the drum is used as an indication of the product quality (wear
level).
The number of rotations for the MX-M850/M950/M1100 drum life
end is 1000K. The drum life is affected by the number of sheets of
one print job.
This is because the actual life is determined by rotations of the
drum. If the number of sheets of one print job is less than 50
sheets, the number of rotations for page is increased. As shown in
the figure below, therefore, the number of sheets of drum life varies
depending on the number of sheets of one print job.
As a reference of the drum life, "Life meter" can be checked with
Sim. 22-1 from the accumulated number of rotations of the drum.
"Life meter" indicates the reached life (%) with the entire life as
100%.
(Example) If the used number of rotations is 550K :
                550 (K rotations) /1000 (K rotations)
✕100 = 055 (%)
B. Definition of the developer life end
When the developer counter exceeds the specified level of 100%
B/W output, it is judged as life end.
In an actual use, the life is not solely determined by the copy quan-
tity but by other operating conditions. Therefore, the number of
rotations of the developer unit is used as an indication of the prod-
uct quality (wear level).
The number of rotations for the MX-M850/M950/M1100 developer
life end is 500K. The developer life is affected by the number of
sheets of one print job.
This is because the actual life is determined by rotations of the
developer unit. If the number of sheets of one print job is less than
50 sheets, the number of rotations for page is increased. As shown
in the figure below, therefore, the number of sheets of developer life
varies depending on the number of sheets of one print job.
As a reference of the developer life, "Life meter" can be checked
with Sim. 22-1 from the accumulated number of rotations of the
developer unit.
"Life meter" indicates the reached life (%) of developer with the
entire life as 100%.
