Changing an Image’s Orientation
You might want to rotate an image to make it easier to work with. For example, the document
might represent a fax you received that was originally sent in landscape or was fed into a fax
machine bottom edge first. The change in orientation applies only to the currently selected page.
To change the image orientation:

1.  Click on the page you want to change.

2.  On the Page menu, point to Rotate Pages. On the Rotate submenu, select Left 90
o
, Right 90
 o
,
or 180
 o
 (flipping the document upside down).

3.  To specify an angle size, choose Any Angle. The Rotate Any Angle dialog box appears.

4.  Enter the degrees by which you want to rotate the image, or click the up/down arrow keys in
the Rotate text box.

5.  Select the direction of the rotation Left or Right.

6.  Click OK.
Straightening an Image
You might receive scanned images or documents that are crooked. Instead of re-scanning the
document, you can straighten it using the Viewer.  This feature is intended to prepare text images
for conversion to text.  It may have little effect, or an unusual effect, on images that do not contain
text.
To straighten an image, choose the Straighten Page command from the Image menu or the
Straighten Page icon on the Image toolbar.  It may be necessary to repeat the option until the text
in the image appears horizontal.
Cropping an Image
You can have the Viewer automatically crop an image to a pre-determined optimum size. This
feature is intended to remove systematic errors from a scanned image, for example, a small image
surrounded by a very large amount of white space. Using this feature on normal scanned images
might produce very tight cropping of the image/text.
To automatically crop an image, choose the Auto Crop command from the Image menu.
