The next area to look at as part of this guide is the Display Layout.
Display Layout.
There are two sections to program the first choice is key size, the
other is Display size.
The amount of keys you can have on the main screen is
dependent upon the size you select for the key size and display
size.
For example if you select the display area to be eight, which is the
largest size of display area then there will be less space for the
key tops, if you select 3 then there will be the maximum space for
key tops
The UP3300 has two sizes of single key tops these will be
refereed to as type A and type B
Type A is a single key size of 3 by 8
Type B is the single key size of 4 by 8 (Refer to picture page 9)
There are obvious advantages to both key sizes.
The 3 by 8 selection is a smaller key and will therefore allow more
key tops on the screen.
These keys will allow for 6 characters of text, which is one line per
single key top
Whereas the 4 by 8 size is a slightly larger key, this will give you
fewer keys but will allow for 12 characters, which are 2 lines of text
per single key top.
The UP3300 is defaulted to 3 x 8 if this is changed to 4 x 8 then
the keyboards will have to be reprogrammed.
If the key size is changed the UP3300 will then ask if you want the
default screen, if you then press the list key you will see there is a
choice of default or MRS-2.
If the screen has changed from 3 x 8 to 4 x 8 then you may have
to select MRS-2 keyboard selection.
