The sales and profit comparison report allows the user to report on a comparison of sales
and profit totals for each category over various periods of time for a store. It only shows
products entered using a barcode or a similar identifier (hence it does not include products
sold using the department key). The profit field shows the amount of profit that has been
registered for each category’s sales. The profit is also shown as a profit on return percentage.
The POR is calculated only on those products that have a cost price above zero.

The today’s daily sales are compared with the sales for that category last week (+/-) field. The
difference is shown as a plus for sales that have exceeded last week’s sales, or a minus value
of sales that have gone down.

For each category, the contribution to last week’s sales is shown as a percentage of total sales
for that week in the % profit field.

To print the report, either click on screen or printer in the ‘print to’ box. This displays a
report similar to the one below:
