Introduction
Welcome to Freedom-PoS!
This manual is aimed to help you understand and work the till system within Retail PLUS.
Some features of Freedom-PoS include:

Tight coupling between the till and Back Office are incorporated, recognising that the till and
Back Office can run on the same machine.

Items may be added at the till by entering their price and a description.  These can then be
reported on and modified in the Back Office.

Client accounts are defined.  Payment may be put on account for any customer with a pre-
defined account or payment of an account may be done.

Some miscellaneous functions are added, including Paid Outs, Lottery, and Cashier age
checking.
2.1

Overview of a Point of Sale System
Freedom-PoS is embedded within the system to provide a till function.  It provides the ability to
sell stock items and pre-configured items, take cash, cheque and credit card payments, and to
collect account payments.  All sales transactions that are performed within Freedom-PoS are
recorded in the store database.
When in training mode, lookups are performed and receipts are printed as normal but all database
updates are inhibited.
The keying sequences used to operate Freedom-PoS are explained in this manual, but often
involve numeric entry followed by a press of the ‘Enter’ key to confirm, or the ‘Clear’ key to
cancel.
