■ Preparations
1. Precautions
Observe the following points when working with the unit.
Disassembly precautions
● Do not disassemble the unit unnecessarily if it is working properly. In particular, do not loosen
any fastening screws unless required.
● When handling the thermal print head, observe the following points.
-   Do not use gloves etc. prone to static charge buildup.
-   Take full precautions against static discharge, and always ground yourself.
● Avoid touching the thermal elements or ICs on the thermal print head.
Assembly precautions
● While assembling the unit, always make sure that there is no damage to lead wires and the
flexible cable, and that no part is pinched or otherwise subject to excessive force.
● Verify that no screws or other parts are left in the unit.
● When first turning on the power after disassembly and assembly, check that every part works
normally.
Other precautions
● Before starting to print, verify that the paper has been set correctly.
● Do not attempt to print without any paper set in the printer.
2. Required Tools
For disassembly and assembly, you will need the following tools.
● Phillips screwdriver (for M2.5 screws)
● Flatblade screwdriver (tip width 2 - 3 mm)
● Tweezers
● Radio pliers
● Brush for lubrication
