2. GENERAL BLOCK DIAGRAM
The control section will be explained as shown in the block diagram.

ASIC (IC1) .................... Composed mainly of the address decoder, modem control section, CPU and RTC.
..................................... Controls the general FAX operations.
..................................... Controls the operation panel I/F.
..................................... Controls the thermal head I/F and CCD I/F.
..................................... Executes image processing.

ROM (IC2) .................... Contains all of the program instructions for unit operations.
(3)
Static RAM (IC3) .......... This memory is used mainly for the parameter working storage area.
(4)
Flash memory (IC4) ..... This memory is used for the voice prompt and TAM.
(5)
MODEM (IC5) .............. Executes modulation and demodulation for FAX and Digital SP-Phone communications.
(6)
CODEC (IC6) ............... Executes coding and decoding for Digital SP-Phone communications.
(7)
Read section ................ Composed of the LED array light source and CCD image sensor to read transmitting

Thermal Head .............. Contains the heating elements for dot matrix image printing.
(9)
Motor driver (IC7, IC8) . Drives the transmission motor and reception motor.

Reset circuit (IC9) ........ Provides a reset pulse to each of the major ICs.

Analog board ................ Composed of the ITS circuit and NCU circuit.

Sensor section ............. Composed of the cover open sensor, document sensor, recording paper sensor, cutter
