NexTView*

*(depending on availability of service).

NexTView is an on-screen electronic programme guide, providing you with programme information for 

different broadcasters.

When looking for information you can search by theme (sports, art, etc...) or date.

If wrong characters appear when viewing NexTView, use the menu system to enter the “Language” menu (see 

page 16) and select the same language as the NexTView is broadcasted.

Displaying NexTView

Select a broadcast channel providing a NexTView service. In this case the indication 

“NexTView” is displayed as soon as data is available.

To see NexTView service you have two different types of NexTView interface. These depend 

on the % of available data:

a)  “Programme List” interface:

Whilst you are watching TV, and after the indication “NexTView” (coloured white) is 
displayed on the screen, press the 

 button on the remote control to watch the 

“Programme List” interface (see fig. 1).

b)  “Overview” interface:

Whilst you are watching TV, and after more than 50% of NexTView data is available 
(100% data may not be available depending on the area)  the indication “NexTView” 
(coloured black) is displayed on the screen. Press the 

 button on the remote control 

to watch the “Overview” interface (see fig. 2).

  To navigate through NexTView:

• Press

 to move left or right. 

• Press 

v

 or 

V

 to move downwards or upwards. 

• Press 

OK to confirm a selection. 

• If you have selected a programme, press 

OK to get more information on the 

selected programme.

To switch NexTView off, press the 

 button on the remote control.

A "Memory Stick"* is a new recording medium with a data capacity that exceeds that of a floppy disk. It is specially
designed for exchanging and sharing digital data amoung "Memory Stick" compatible products. Use "Memory
Stick" to display JPEG pictures (DCF version1.0 format)** individually or as a slideshow presentation on the TV
screen.

"Memory Stick" and the 

 logo are trademarks of Sony Corporation.

**  DCF (Design rules for Camera File systems) is a standard file name format for digital srtill cameras etc. It is

supported by Sony and other manufacturers.

Insert the "Memory Stick" into the "MEMORY STICK" slot until it 

clicks into the connector (see picture). 

Insert the "Memory Stick" with the mark 

v 

facing up and 

pointing towards the "MEMORY STICK" slot.

The red light of the Memory Stick flashes indicating that the 
"Memory Stick" contents are being read.

You can also use a "Memory Stick Duo" with this unit by inserting the "Memory 
Stick Duo" into a "Memory Stick Duo adaptor".

•  Do not insert a "Memory Stick Duo" without the adptor
•  Do not insert a "Memory Stick Duo adaptor" without the facing wrong 

direction (upside down or backwards).

See pages 23, 24 and 25.

 Confirm that the red light of the "Memory Stick" is off.

Push the "Memory Stick" and then release, the "Memory Stick" will spring out.
Remove the "Memory Stick".

• Do not remove the "Memory Stick" while it is reading or writing data.
• We recommend that you make a backup copy of any important data that you record on the "Memory Stick".
• When you set the "Memory Stick" erasure prevention switch to "LOCK", data cannot be recorded, edited, or 

erased.

• Data may become damaged if:
  - you remove the "Memory Stick" or turn off the TV while it is reading or writing data.
  - you use the "Memory Stick" in a location subject to the effects of static electricity or electric noise.
• "Memory Stick" supports JPEG DCF formatted files only. Any files not recognised as DCF format will be 

displayed as "--------". JPEG DCF formatted files that have been created or modified on a PC may not appear 
correctly on the TV screen.

• Pictures taken by some equipments may not be displayed on this television screen.
• Besides all the above precautions, we recommend you to read carefully the instructions supplied with the 

"Memory Stick".

• Before using a "Memory Stick Duo", please read the supplied "Caution about Memory Stick Duo" book.
