Advanced Operation
The Digital Electronic 
Programme Guide 
(EPG)
The Digital Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) allows you to:
a) view programme information for all digital channels,
b) sort programme information by category,
c) set reminders to have the TV automatically switch to a programme when it starts,
d) record programmes
The EPG is only available in digital mode.
The Categories list
The Categories list allows you to display channels in the EPG by category.
The categories available include:
The Timer pop-up list
The Timer pop-up list allows you to automatically set your VCR to record 
programmes*, to set a programme to be displayed on the TV screen when it starts 
or to manually set a programme to be recorded.

With the TV in digital mode, press the 
 button to display the EPG.
2.

Move around the menu...
V, v, B and b buttons.
Display the previous/next six 
channels in the list...
RED button (previous), GREEN 
button (next).
View a current programme...
OK button while highlighting a 
current programme.

Press the 
 button to return to normal TV operation.
Favourite
Contains all the channels that have been stored in the 
‘Favourite’ list (refer to page 21).
All Categories
Contains all available channels.
News
Contains all news channels.
1.
With the EPG on screen, press the BLUE button.
2.
Press the 
V, v, B and b button to highlight the required category. The 
category name is displayed alongside.
3.
Press the OK button. The EPG now only shows current programmes 
from the category selected.

With the EPG on screen, press the 
V, v, B and b button to highlight the 
future programme you wish to record/display.
2.
Press the YELLOW button to display the ‘Timer’ menu.
a) Timer REC
This option allows you to automatically set a programme to be recorded.
1.
With the EPG on screen, press the 
V, v, B and b button to highlight the 
programme you wish to record.
2.
Press the YELLOW button to display the ‘Timer’ menu.
3.
Press the 
V or v button to highlight ‘Timer REC’.
4.
Press the OK button to set the TV and your VCR timers*.

*Only for Smartlink compatible VCRs. If 
your VCR is not Smartlink compatible a 
message will be displayed to remind you 
to set your VCR timer.
When a programme has been set to 
record, a 
 symbol appears by that 
programme’s information in the EPG.
Once a recording has begun you can 
switch the TV to standby mode, but do 
not switch off the TV completely or the 
recording may be cancelled.

b) Reminder
This option allows you to set a future programme to be displayed automatically 
on the TV screen when it starts.
1.
With the EPG on screen, press the 
V, v, B and b button to highlight the 
future programme you wish to display.
2.
Press the YELLOW button to display the ‘Timer’ menu.
3.
Press the 
V or v button to highlight ‘Reminder’.
4.
Press the OK button to set the TV to automatically display the selected 
programme when the programme starts*.
c) Manual timer REC
This option allows you to manually set the time and date of a future programme 
you wish to record.
1.
With the EPG on screen, press the YELLOW button to display the ‘Timer’ 
menu.
2.
Press the 
V or v button to highlight ‘Manual timer REC’. Press the OK 
button to display the ‘Manual timer REC’ menu.
3.
Press the 
V or v button to select the date. Press the b button.
4.
Press the 
V or v button to select the start time. Press the b button.
5.
Press the 
V or v button to select the stop time. Press the b button.
6.
Press the 
V or v button to select the channel. Press the OK button to set 
the TV and your VCR timers**.
Cancelling a recording/reminder
The ‘Timer’ pop-up menu also has a ‘Timer list’ option that only appears when a 
programme has been set to record/display. The ‘Timer list’ option allows you to 
view a list of all programmes that have been set to record/display and to delete 
any programmes.
1.
With the EPG on screen, press the YELLOW button to display the ‘Timer’ 
menu.
2.
Press the 
V or v button to highlight ‘Timer list’. Press the OK button to 
display the ‘Timer list’.
3.
Press the 
V or v button to highlight the programme you wish to delete. 
Press the OK button to delete the programme.
4.
A display appears to confirm that you wish to delete the programme.
5.
Press the 
B button to highlight ‘Yes’. Press the OK button to confirm.

*When a programme has been set to

If you switch the TV to standby mode it 
will automatically turn itself on when the 
programme is about to start.
