By  using  the  Setup  menu,  you  can  make  various 
adjustments  to  items  such  as  picture  and  sound. 
You  can  also  set  a  language  for  the  subtitles  and  the 
Setup  menu,  among  other  things  .For  details  on 
each  Setup  menu  item  ,see  pages  42  to  45.

Press  SETUP  to  display  the  menu  .A  second  press 
of  SETUP  or  RETURN  will  take  you  back  to  initial 
screen.

1.  Press  SETUP  .The  Setup  menu  appears.

2.  Use        /        to  select  the  desired  option  then  press     

to  move  to  the  second  level  .The  screen  shows 
the  current  setting  for  the  selected  item,  as  well 
as  alternate  setting(s).

3.  Use        /        to  select  the  second  desired  option  then 

press        to  move  to  the  third  level  or  press        to 
move  to  the  first  level.

4.  Use        /        to  select  the  desired  setting  then  press 

ENTER  to  confirm  your  selection.  Some  items 
require  additional  steps.

5.  Press  SETUP,  RETURN  or  select  the  exit  setup 

option  to  exit  the  Setup  menu.

Select  a  picture  size  according  to  the  aspect  ratio 
of  your  TV.  The  displayable  picture  depends  on 
each  DVD  Video  .Therefore,  the  playback  picture 
of  some  DVD  videos  may  not  conform  to  the 
picture  size  you  select.

The  default  of  TV  Display  is  16:9  (Wide).
4:3  PS  (Pan  scan):

Select  when  a  standard  4:3  TV  is  connected.

Automatically  display  the  wide  picture  on  the  entire 
screen  and  cut  off  the  portions  that  do  not  fit.

Select  when  a  standard  4:  3  TV  is  connected.

Display  a  wide  picture  with  bands  on  the  upper  and 
lower  portions  of  the  screen.

Select  when  a  16:9  wide  TV  is  connected.

Angle  Mark
If  the  scene  was  shot  multiple  angles,  then  you  can 
easily  change  the  camera  angle  of  the  scene  you  are 
watching.The  settings  are  ON  or  OFF.
The  default  of  Angle  Mark  is  ON.
Screen  Saver 
Your  player  is  equipped  with  a  screen  saver  that 
appears  when  the  player  has  been  idle  for 
15minutes.The  settings  are  ON  or  OFF.
The  default  of  Screen  Saver  is  ON.

Default 
Each  function  returns  to  its  original  factory  setting.
Select  “Reset”  and  press  ENTER.
The  reset  operation  is  finished  and  the  player  exits 
form  the  “SETUP”  menu.
AUDIO  SETUP 

DivX
Sony  provides  you  the  DivX  registration  code  that 
allows  you  to  rent  and  purchase  videos  using  the 
DivX  service.  Please  refer  to  page  39-41  for  details.

You  can  select  the  dynamic  range  (difference 
between  soft  and  loud  sounds)  setting  when 
playing  a  DVD  that  conforms  to  DRC.

Select  a  language  for  the  Setup  menu  and                     
on-screen  display.

The  default  of  OSD  Language  is  ENG.

Select  the  language  you  prefer  for  the  audio  track 
(disc  audio),  subtitles,  and  the  disc  menu.

The  default  of  Disc  Menu,  subtitle  or  Audio  is  ENG.
